About Sher

Your Personal Florist, Sher Opal Sher Opal, creator of Flowers by Sher brings to the flower industry the experience of 25+ years of management experience and the formal education & experience of floral design over many years.

Sher is a native Northern Virginian and graduate of South Florida Center for Floral Design, located in West Palm Beach, Florida.

After many years as a Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM), Sher decided in 2005 to venture into the floral design arena and subsequently established Flowers by Sher to design and create unique floral arrangements for her client's homes, offices and special events.

As a business woman, Sher admires Oprah for her exceptional business sense and strong spirituality. As a floral designer, she admires John Klingel, AIFD, Master Floral Designer and author of "The Frugal Florist".

Sher is the wife of Richard Opal, Gold Services Manager for Weichert Financial Services in Gainesville, Virginia, and has two grown daughters, two grand children and family that live in the Northern Virginia area. Sher & Richard also have two loving miniature schnauzers, Mickey & Cricket, that make their lives complete.

Sher's Philosophy:

The world is full of so much beauty and flowers are the most beautiful, so let's enjoy them every day. Flowers evoke love and make you smile, even in the saddest of occasions.

You must also give in order to truly enjoy your blessings. Sher has a number of charities: Breast Cancer research organizations and organizations working to eradicate homelessness in the states.

Personal Goal:

Sher's vision is to have the pleasure of being an intricate partner in the planning of celebrations with the very top designers in the entertainment business, such as Colin Cowie.
